Just under 3 acres of beautiful, private woodland and paddocks available for off grid and wild camping in East Grafton. 10 tent pitches available. Washing basins, separate male and female compost loos, washing up facilities and running water provided from our bore hole powered by solar energy (no electrical hook up).  A small charge for well- behaved dogs and firepits and wood provided as an added extra.

Wild camping is sleeping in your tent in the wilderness.  We believe this also means leaving your car behind, walking or cycling to us with your kit on your back. We think this will help to slow your pace of life, restore your senses and benefit physiologically and psychologically from living closely with nature.  Respect nature and leave no trace.  Nature will fill you with gratitude in return.

Your camping basics in your pack. An extra waterproof layer and an extra layer of warm clothing and wooly hat will make your camping trip more enjoyable and safe.  If walking, keep your pack as light as possible. It's best to start with a tough and light tent, a sleeping mat and a quality sleeping bag, all in one stove, water filter bottle (if you don't want to carry water) and a good quality torch. We can top up drinking water, rent you a grill/fire pit and always leave a few basics in our store cupboard.

There is a beautiful canal walk from Great Bedwyn (2.8 miles) where there is a train station connecting directly to London Paddington. The number 22 bus (stop 700m away) goes to the nearby towns of Hungerford (where there is a mainline railway station)  and Marlborough via the local villages. We are ideally located for the national cycle route 4 which is within 1/2 km and the Pewsey Vale Circular way hiking route in nearby.

There is a picturesque canal walk to Great Bedwyn shop (2.8 miles).  A two mile walk/drive takes you to Burbage where there are shops and laundry facilities. The number 22 bus (stop 700m away) heads to the nearby market towns of Hungerford and Marlborough via local villages. Dark Lane is just under a mile from the picturesque village of Wilton, home to The Swan pub providing locally sourced food and drink.

We supply firepits with wood.  You are also welcome to bring your own wood and firepit but we do not encourage camp fires directly on the ground as this scorches the land.

Yes, but we can replinish your canteen on request. Whilst we have water from our solar powered bore hole its not certified for drinking so can only be used for washing.  We  therefore bring in a small supply of mains  drinking water in a portable water container.

Only if you bring your own camping shower. Whilst we have plenty of water for washing up we haven't installed any showers (yet).

Yes we can offer the site on an exclusive basis. Please email us and we would be delighted to help you plan that family or group get away.

Our thanks to Andrew Foster, a regular camper, friend and a super photographer.
